STAGE 01 - Before you apply for a building warrant

You can choose to appoint an agent to act on your behalf, to help make sure your plans meet the building regulations(such as an architect, building engineer or building surveyor).

Applications for building warrant should be made using standard forms. They are available and can be submitted electronically through the eBuilding Standards portal see https://www. ebuildingstandards.scot. Alternatively applicants can still submit paper-based applications directly to the local authority.
